Rash Ramblings

A runner once, an explorer always!

I am not a pain junkie. Although it is something that has made frequent visits to my life. At the beginning, especially, of one’s push to return to fitness, he is a very willing participant. As the run begins, almost out of nowhere, he appears disrupting the mood of the moment. You are at peace with the strain and effort of putting one foot in front of the other with the extra load gathered through years of complacency. Pain will seek to be your constant companion. The constant conversation you have, in your mind, will continue with the hope of distracting you from your goal and eventually having you abandon it completely. The solution is to press on. Pain can be left behind over time, but one has to be ever watchful for pain stalks constantly and will grab you if it can. Keep your eye on the goal!
