Rash Ramblings

A runner once, an explorer always!

Back in the Soup

I was met at the back door this morning by my old buddy Stifling Humidity. What a difference a couple of days make. As it turned out on Saturday, a new record low temperature was set. That was surely because of low humidity. It was so much easier to breathe and it felt like it so much more open around me. This heat and humidity just closes in on you and tries to hold you down, I made my run this morning with these things in mind. I know from previous experience that you just have to keep taking steps. It doesn’t matter the distance or even the size of your task, with each little step…you are one step closer. It is almost like a mantra from a high school football coach. It rings so true, it almost sounds silly.

I take my steps and I am closer than I was when I got up this morning. I continue on. 19:09.88
